African Art Themes in New Exhibit by Amani Borah
Oak Park resident and artist, Amani Borah, enthusiastically greeted fellow artists and guests, including many from Harrison Street galleries, at a reception for his new exhibit at the Oak Park Public Library on Sunday afternoon. African themes are strong in the artwork created by Amani who is from Kenya.
Amani Borah is married to Cynthia Simone Borah, an art teacher at Brooks Middle School in Oak Park. Amani came to the U.S. with a Kenyan tumbling team and still performs at venues across the country.
Amani Borah is associated with the Dancing Krow/Third Friday Night Gallery in the Harrison Street Arts District. His art will be on display at the Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake Street, through Feb. 28. The gallery is open seven days a week during regular library hours.
