First Congregational Church of Maywood celebrated a more than century old tradition of Hanging the Green on Sunday, November 27. At the beginning of Sunday service the congregation came forward and hung the hand made, heirloom "Chrismons" on the stately evergreen. From the smallest child to the eldest in the group, the first Sunday of Advent was recognized in this way and throughout the service in prayer and song.
