OAK PARK, Ill. – The Oak Park Windmills Girls Fastpitch Organization will be hosting tryouts for girls who are looking to receive elite training in fast-pitch softball in divisions 10-and-under and 8-and-under. Tryout dates for both divisions are as follows: • Saturday, Sept. 11, 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Ridgeland Commons Park, Oak Park, corner of Ridgeland Ave. and Lake St. • Monday, Sept. 13, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Windmills Academy at 1401 S. Circle, Forest Park, 2 blocks south of Roosevelt Rd. Players are encouraged to participate at both tryout dates. Registration will be available on location at each tryout, or can be done via the web at http://eteamz.com/oakparkwindmills. The Windmills were established in 1989 with the goal of training elite softball players who will become capable of earning college scholarships. More than 80 graduates of the Windmills have played NCAA Division I, II and III collegiate softball. Many of these women now coach, both professionally and as volunteers, continuing the tradition and philosophy of dedication, perseverance and teamwork. The Windmills is a volunteer-driven organization and always looking for coaches, players and board members dedicated to keeping alive the spirit and success of the founding group.
