SUMMARY:Dominican University Presents “Up” on the Quad
DESCRIPTION;CHARSET=UTF-8:Dominican University will present the Academy Award winning film Up on Friday, September 10 at 9:00 p.m. The movie will be shown on an outdoor screen on the quad of the main campus, 7900 West Division Street, River Forest.   One of the most critically acclaimed films of 2009, Up tells the tale of Carl Fredricksen, a 78-year-old widower who, in his attempt to prevent being taken to a retirement home, attaches an innumerable amount of helium balloons to his home and floats off to find South America. Frederickson unknowingly brings along Russell, a young and insecure boy who seeks attention from a male role model. The unlikely duo set off on an adventure to a lost land in South America where they encounter talking dogs, a rare bird and a disgraced adventurer. With its universal themes of acceptance, companionship, and making the most of one’s life, Up has charmed the hearts of children and adults alike.   The movie is free and open to the public.
