An alleged gang member was charged with first degree murder for the fatal shooting of a parolee earlier this week, officials said.

Daniel Leanos, 18, had a dispute with Henry Martinez, 26, of the 2900 block of south 48th Court on Feb. 1 and then returned and shot him, according to Cicero Spokesman Ray Hanania.

President Larry Dominick praised the fast work of the Cicero Police in apprehending a suspect in the murder of Henry Martinez. Until the Martinez murder, the Town of Cicero had no prior street gang related murders in nearly 18 months.
