Free Clinic Helps Homeless access Chiropractic Care

Chiro One Wellness Centers launch Chiros Care Free Clinic in Chicago

In an effort to offer the benefits of chiropractic care to a population that is underserved and homeless, Chiro One Wellness Centers recently launched the first Chiro One free clinic in Chicago named ‘Chiros Care’.  Held at Inspiration Corporation located at 4554 N. Broadway St. Ste. 207 in Chicago, doors were open on June 25th & 26th from 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. and Chiro One doctors were on site offering complimentary chiropractic care to homeless and at-risk individuals. This weekend marked the second Free Clinic weekend where 21 new patients were treated and 25 people returned for follow up care. Chiros Care opened in May.

The free clinic was finally brought to fruition when Chief Operations Officer and founding partner, Dr. Sam Wang and Chiro One Wellness Center of Evanston Clinic Director Dr. Cori Bauer led the charge to make sure this dream became a reality. Chiro One Wellness Centers is supporting this effort with company-wide volunteers from all locations and Inspiration Corporation is generously offering clinic space to provide this benefit to their participants as well as local shelters.

“Many of Chicago’s homeless do not have access to healthcare and may have issues related to addiction,” states Chiro One Wellness Center of Evanston Clinic Director, Dr. Cori Bauer.  “Chiros Care Free Clinic offers this underserved group an opportunity to obtain complimentary chiropractic care which offers a holistic (drug-less) approach to attaining proper function and promoting health and wellness without the risk of perpetuating chemical dependencies.”

“The chiropractors were very thorough and friendly,” states George Williams, Inspiration Corporation spokesperson. “Some participants were unfamiliar with how chiropractic care could be beneficial to them but after this weekend, quite a few people received adjustments and have a better understanding of how chiropractic works.”

Chiro One volunteers included Dr. Cori Bauer, Dr. Sam Wang, Dr. Raffaela "Ela" Villella, Dr. Jill Wheeler and Dr. Nick Kuennen.
