Dr. Pascale Nelson of Chiro One Wellness Centers goes on a mission, sharing the gift of chiropractic with Haiti earthquake survivors 

Dr. Pascale Nelson of Chiro One Wellness Center of McHenry recently embarked on a chiropractic mission trip, teaming together with medical personnel and chiropractic physicians alike in a humanitarian effort to provide relief to the people of Haiti.

Doing her part to support earthquake survivors in Haiti, Dr. Pascale Nelson joined a group of medical and chiropractic physicians, providing preventative and crisis care to over 1,800 Haiti earthquake survivors. The mission focused in the north of Haiti, Cap Haitian and Milot, where C.H.A.I (Concerns Haitian American of Illinois), a non profit organization, established a medical clinic and a school. Many Haitians who have lost their homes have migrated to the north where their families and refugee camps were set up. Dr. Pascale Nelson's mission trip to Haiti lasted from March 19th to March 28th.

"It was an amazing, life changing experience!," states Chiro One of McHenry Clinic Director Dr. Pascale Nelson. "It was a real dose of what some peoples reality is. Even with the little they do have, to see their drive and spirit to provide for their families and community is inspiring. It was a humbling experience."

Dr. Pascale met a local named Henry in her travels who dedicated his time helping the less fortunate at the clinic. He was also a victim of the earthquake, having lost 2/3 of his home which had collapsed.

We saw a combined amount of 1800 people at the medical clinic of Jeanne Lang C.H.A.I. in Cap Haitian and Milot. The many donations provided from the people of Illinois were donated to the refugee camp in Milot, to the Hospital in Limbe and locals citizens in need. We served injured refugees and locals in need from the earthquake by providing preventative and crisis care with a team of Medical and Chiropractic physicians.

According to Dr. Pascale Nelson, the people that received chiropractic care either have no access to any healthcare whatsoever or have a doctor visit their village sporadically throughout the year. Relief efforts continue to help Haiti recover and rebuild from the catastrophic earthquake that ripped through the impoverished island of Haiti on January 12th.
