JCC Maccabi Chicago is gearing up for this summers JCC Maccabi Games and JCC Maccabi ArtsFest with the announcement of 2010 Information Nights and official tryouts. JCC Maccabi Chicago is a Jewish Community Center (JCC) Chicago program that provides athletic, social and cultural experiences to Jewish teens, ages 13-16 years.
All interested athletes and families are invited to attend a free information night to learn more about the JCC Maccabi Games in Denver, Colo., and Omaha, Neb., Aug. 1-6, 2010, and JCC Maccabi Games and JCC Maccabi ArtsFest in Baltimore, Md., Aug. 8-13, 2010.
The information nights will take place on the below dates at the listed times and locations:
- Mon, Jan. 25, 7:00pm Jacob Duman JCC, 370 Half Day Rd, Buffalo Grove
- Wed, Jan. 27, 7:00pm Bernard Horwich JCC, 3003 W. Touhy Ave., Chicago
- Tue, Feb. 2, 7:00pm Bernard Weinger JCC, 300 Revere Dr, Northbrook
- Thu, Feb. 4, 7:00pm Mayer Kaplan JCC Childrens Center, 5050 Church St., Skokie

JCC Maccabi Chicago will be represented in each host city by athletes, performers and coaches from across the Chicagoland area. Teams will compete in the following sports and activities:
- Denver, Colo. (Aug. 1-6): Boys Baseball 14U, Boys Basketball 16U, Girls 7v7 Soccer 16U, Girls Volleyball 16U, Flag Football 14U, Golf and Track & Field
- Omaha, Neb. (Aug. 1-6): Boys Baseball 16U, Boys Basketball 14U, Boys 7v7 Soccer 14U and Bowling
- Baltimore, Md. (Aug. 8-13): Girls Basketball 16U, Girls Softball 16U, Tennis and Swimming as well as JCC Maccabi ArtsFest participants
Each summer, the JCC Maccabi Games and JCC Maccabi ArtsFest offer a life-changing and personality-shaping experience to Jewish teenagers. The JCC Maccabi Games provides athletes the chance to participate in one of 14 sports, spanning the week-long Olympic-style sporting event. The JCC Maccabi ArtsFest is designed to inspire Jewish teens through a dynamic combination of workshops, performances, exhibitions and recognition of excellence. Both events serve a larger purpose beyond athletic competition and performances, promoting community involvement, teamwork and pride in being Jewish.
