"The Lonesome Theologians" Bring Family and Friends Together at Covenant Village
On June 20, the group "The Lonesome Theologians" performed lively bluegrass music for over 150 residents, family and staff members at Covenant Village of Northbrook's Midsummer's Celebration. Chaplain Richard Bergstrom welcomed the audience, who were seated in the tree lined courtyard at Axelson Manor, surrounded by flowers, a colorful maypole and campfire.
The evening provided fellowship and fun, as residents sang along to familiar songs like "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" and watched children dance around the maypole. Light refreshments were served, including sparking apple juice and s'mores hot from the campfire!
This activity was coordinated by Activity Supervisor Kandace Bergstrom. Jonathan Kaspar, Administrator of Healthcare at Brandel Care Center, and his family participated in the festivities throughout the evening.
