Feb. 13, Northbrook: $14k stolen from ATM, man charged with stealing sausages, and more

Burglary

Someone broke into a home in the 1400 block of Wescott Road between 11:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Feb. 11. It was not known what was taken.

A handgun was stolen between 5 a.m. Feb. 9 and 1 p.m. Feb. 12 from a home in the 1900 block of Big Oak Lane. The home’s back door was found open, and a window lock was broken.

A home in the 2900 block of Shannon Road was ransacked between 7:30 p.m. Feb. 11 and 12:25 a.m. Feb. 12. The residents returned home to find a sliding door ajar.

Drug possession

Two 17-year-old Northbrook boys were issued citations at 11:41 p.m. Feb. 11 at Cedar lane and Maple Avenue. One boy was cited for possession of marijuana, and the other was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Three 18-year-old Northbrook men were issued citations at 9:01 p.m. Feb. 28 in the 2900 block of Koepke Road for possession of marijuana. Two of the men also were cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Retail theft

A 54-year-old Morton Grove man was issued a citation at 11:23 a.m. Feb. 12 at Whole Foods, 840 Willow Road, for retail theft after taking two packages of sausages valued at $10.20.

Theft

More than $14,000 was reported stolen Feb. 6 from an ATM in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard.

A jewelry box was reported stolen Feb. 5 from a home in the 4000 block of Michelline Lane.

Jewelry was reported stolen Feb. 5 from a home in the 100 block of Pointe Drive. The resident said she noticed the missing jewelry over the past few months.

More than $2,000 worth of Apple products was reported stolen Feb. 7 from a business in the 2500 block of Shermer Road.

A wallet was stolen Feb. 8 from a conference room in the 900 block of Skokie Boulevard. The owner left the wallet behind and noticed it missing when he returned.

A wallet containing $40 in cash, a drivers license and a credit card was stolen between 1 p.m. Feb. 7 and 9 a.m. Feb. 9 from a cafeteria in the 0-100 block of Revere Drive. The wallet had been left behind in the building.

DUI

A 56-year-old Evanston man was arrested at 9:55 p.m. Feb. 5 at Dundee Road and the Edens Expressway and charged with DUI, speeding and driving without a valid license.

A 19-year-old Highland Park woman and a 17-year-old Highland Park girl were arrested at 9:27 p.m. Feb. 8 at Macy’s in Northbrook Court and cited for retail theft.

Underage drinking

A 19-year-old Mount Prospect man was arrested at 3:49 a.m. Feb. 5 in the 1400 block of Shermer Road and charged with obstructing a peace officer and underage drinking.

Sex offender arrest

A 33-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 1:58 p.m. Feb. 10 at Skokie Boulevard and Lake-Cook Road and charged with failing to register as a sex offender.

Identity theft

A Northbrook resident reported unauthorized credit card transactions Feb. 10.
