Vandalism
Six Northbrook teens were arrested at 1:15 a.m. July 25 after fleeing police at Stanley Field School, 2055 Landwehr Road, where they were seen with a bucket of paint, marking a wall of the building. All six 19-year-olds were charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. Two were charged with possession of marijuana, and one was charged with criminal damage to property.
The word “Satan” was found written in white paint on a water fountain July 22 at a park district facility on the 1700 block of Techny Road. Black marker also had been used to draw on a post at the facility.
The phrase “In our darkest hour” was found written in black marker July 22 on the downtown Metra station platform.
Property damage
A window at Meatheads restaurant, 1035 Willow Road, was broken between 9 and 10 p.m. July 18. A ball bearing was found near the damaged window.
A police officer on patrol at 2:26 a.m. July 24 noticed a vehicle on the 2300 block of Castilian Circle with its windows shattered. Damaged mailboxes also were noticed in the area, on the 3400 block of Whirlaway Drive and the 2300 block of Arbeleda Lane.
Retail theft
Three 16-year-olds — one from Vernon Hills and two from Chicago — were arrested at 3:04 p.m. July 20 at Macy’s in Northbrook Court, 1515 Lake Cook Road, and charged with retail theft after they were seen entering the fitting room and trying to conceal items on the way out.
Underage drinking
Two 20-year-old Northbrook women were arrested at 11:11 p.m. July 23 on the 2700 block of Techny Road and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor during a traffic stop.
DUI arrest
A 44-year-old Buffalo Grove man was arrested at 11:36 a.m. July 22 at Willow Road and Founders Drive and charged with DUI, improper lane use and driving on a suspended license.
Thefts
An umbrella cover was reported taken July 22 from a swimming pool area on the 1400 block of Chartres Drive. The cover had been taken about a week prior. About two weeks prior, the lock to a tennis court on the same block was broken.
Two flowerpots containing flowers were taken between 8 and 10 a.m. July 23 from a residence on the 400 block of Laburnum Drive. The pots and flowers were valued at $30.
Two $45 potted flower arrangements and a $20 solar light were reported taken at 1:30 p.m. July 23 on the 700 block of Alice Drive.
A bird feeder was reported taken at 5:42 p.m. July 23 from a resident’s backyard on the 4500 block of Deer Trail.
A $350 Trek mountain bike was taken July 9 from the Northbrook Metra station
Trespassing
A 50-year-old Northbrook man was arrested at 8:55 p.m. July 23 on the 800 block of Oakleaf Terrace and charged with trespassing after he was found on the premises of the home from where he had recently been evicted.
