Springfield, IL: Raja Krishnamoorthi, Democratic Candidate for Illinois’ 8th Congressional District, on December 30th filed his petitions with the Illinois Board of Elections in Springfield, according to press release.
Krishnamoorthi, collected over 4,300 petition signatures even though only 600 signatures were required. The vast majority of these signatures were collected door-to-door from registered voters, ensuring they are high quality signatures.
“We were able to knock on numerous doors and collect so many signatures in large part due to our significant grass roots operation and formidable ground game,” said Campaign Spokesman Mike Murray.
“Raja has the vast majority of local endorsements from Democratic community leaders, elected officials, and unions,” continued Murray. “Our supporters have worked, are working, and will continue to work tirelessly to get Raja elected because they know that Raja is the candidate best equipped to deal with the economy and stand up to the extreme, highly partisan politics of Tea Party Republicans like Joe Walsh.”
