Jain center celebrates Rass-Garba

Bartlett, IL : After a successful Ramzat last year by Jain Center ofChicago, once again Jain center hosted a Rass Garba with Raj and Smruti Pandya Group. The event was held at the JainCommunity Center at 435 N Rt.59, Bartlett, IL 60103 on September 30, and October 1st.The first day theme for music was the "Dholida naa Taale" andfollowed by a "Bollywood Fusion" on the second day continued from 8pm till 2am withfantastic energy and vigor. Chicago land’s Jains and non-Jain communityoverwhelmingly responded and made this program sold out for second day.“Raas-Garba Ramzat 2011” a beautiful event got truly remarkable response fromall the attendees and they made this 2-day event a memorable one.

On a very first day, duringkick-off ceremony, JSMC Committe members along with President Atul Shahinaugurated the festival by lighting the lamp “Mangal Deep” signifying unity,harmony and music. Vice President of JSMC Hemant Shah welcomed dignitaries andall the attendees of the Ramzat 2011. The diamond sponsors for the event NarenPatel, CEO of Medstar Laboratories and President of Vishva Gujarati Samaj,Kiran Doshi, Chairman of Comfort Suites, Schaumburg, Savio Dias General Manager of KingfisherAirline, Chicago and Rohit Shah, Agent of American Family and sponsors familieswere recognized and presented a momentos by JSMC. Parag Shah, Treasurer of JSMCprovided logistics on two days of festivities.

Throughout the event Eshana,Raj and Smruti Pandya, from a famous musical group served a melodious music andsinging. Lead vocalist and band leader Raj and Smruti Pandya, who havepresented performances in more than 41 states, with unique concept of mergingEastern and Western music and have performed in the movie "AmericanDesi". People from all age groups enjoyed the two days of Raas-Garba untilpast midnight. Hitesh R. Shah, Food Secretary of JSMC, mentioned that peopleenjoyed variety of Food menus chosen for youth and adult served in aprofessional setup. “Gamthi” theme decoration throughout the facility with abeautiful center pieces of “Shrifal” and “Raath with Ganesh” became a majorattraction for a picture perfect photo spots. Security, safety and parkingarrangements were very thoughtful and well planned.

Everyday contests for BestPerformances and Best Costumes were thoroughly enjoyed by all the participants.Technical judges Toral Chaudhary of Nrutyakala Dance Academy, Shital Dhanani ofTarana Dance Academy and well-known choreographer Swati Shah alongwith LinaShah, Kushal Singhavi, Nancy Shah and Vishal Shah served as judges for thecompetition. Trophies and prices were donated by Dipak and Ginni Doshi.

Sponsors and the Vendors ofthis event participated by displaying their Banners and/or Advertisementsthrough live Slide Show on a two big screen projectors throughout the two days.Both days a grand Lucky draw was organized and winner received a round-tripairline tickets for Domestic-India as sponsored by Kingfisher Airline.
