Lincoln-Way Central and Lincoln-Way West Preschool registration begins

Registration for Lincoln-Way High School’s 2012-2013 Preschool sponsored by the Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Economics) Early Childhood Education classes will begin soon.

Registration for the Preschool will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2 in Room D119 at Lincoln-Way Central, 1801 E. Lincoln Highway, New Lenox. A second registration will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6 in room B126 at the Lincoln-Way West High School, 21701 S. Gougar, New Lenox.

Children must be three years old by September 1, 2012; toilet trained and must reside within the Lincoln-Way High School District 210 boundaries to be eligible. Parents must complete the written applications; no telephone applications will be accepted. If you are unable to attend the registration please call the number below before the registration date.

“A total of 16 children, ages 3 to 5, will be selected to attend a morning session. Preschool will meet Wednesdays and Thursdays from October through January. The program continues Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from February through May,” stated Amy Lidy, Family and Consumer Sciences instructor at West.

Fees are $30 per month or $240 per year. A non refundable deposit of $60 will be required of those selected into the program and will be applied to the first two months of nursery school.

“This program gives Early Childhood Education students an opportunity to work with children in a preschool environment under the full-time supervision of a Family and Consumer Sciences’ instructor,” noted Katie Bingham, Family and Consumer Sciences’ instructor for Central.
