TBS released the national ranked organizations in youth travel baseball in June 2011, and the Lincoln-Way Prospects Travel Baseball organization, serving the District #210 communities, has continued to be listed as a perennial powerhouse, upping the reputation of our contiguous local area, and proving that Northern U.S. teams from the Midwest can compete with both coasts, the southern markets and heavily multi-district and nationally sponsored programs – right here in New Lenox, IL and the surrounding area.
The Prospects 9U program is in its first-year as a team, and has moved to #16 in the nation with seven straight tournament wins, and a 42-2 record on the season. It included a schedule strength as high as #17 in the nation and #2 in the U.S. Midwest #4 region. The team won several major events, including two NIT’s and several 12+ team tournaments.
Here is the national top 20 ranks: #1 Team MVP (Miami, FL), #2
VSA Vipers (Chatsworth, CA), #3 SGV Cobras Black (of San Gabriel/San Fernando Valley area), #4 Oklahoma Elite (Oklahoma City), #5 Carolina Mustangs (Winston Salem, NC), #6 SGV Hustle (San Gabriel Valley area, CA), #7 TEAM Rawlings (San Juan Capistrano, CA) and Arkansas Express, #8 Oklahoma Dirt Dawgs (Owasso, OK), #9 Mississippi Storm, #10 South Texas Longhorn Academy/RBA (McAllen, Texas) and Sandlot All-Stars (Tempe, AZ), #11 Slammers Black (Denver, Colorado), #12 East Cobb Longhorns (Marietta, GA), #13 Georgia Raiders (Atlanta), #14 Georgia Raiders (Atlanta), #15 Dothan Warriors (Dothan, AL), #16 Lincoln-Way Prospects (New Lenox, IL), #17 Carolina Stars (Whitmire, SC), #18 Monarchs Baseball (Kansas City, MO), #19 Mississippi Mustangs (Desoto County, MS) and #20 MCBC Hit Dogs (Rochester Hills, MI).
They follow in tough footsteps as the 11U Prospects have reached the TBS Top 25 national rank plus a Top 25 Honorable Mention both in 2010 and 2011. The team also is the defending back-to-back C.A.B.A. World Series runner-ups, and that group over three years has produced a Prospects leading 23 championships, and compiled a 189-25 (.883%) record since 2009.
In addition, the current 10U Lincoln-Way Prospects are the reigning C.A.B.A. World Series champions, who defeated most major local market teams in 2010 and went on to win eight tournaments and a World Series in 2010; defeating the Cincinnati Flames twice, Michigan twice and the Mississippi State champs to win it all.
In 2011, the three teams set an organizational record in their “combined” first 150 games, setting an unprecented 136-14 season to-date record, which is a .907 winning percentage boasting a competitive and difficult opponent strength of schedule and tournament pace. It shows the depth of their pitching, endurance and conditioning along with the annual proven track record of the organizations coaching, academic and community service philosophies, and winter training program – all of which contribute to player execution, learning and accomplishment.
