The 11U Lincoln-Way Prospects travel baseball squad continues their success on the youth travel baseball circuit. They competed in the June 10-12 City of Lights tournament hosted in Aurora, IL that brought 14 teams at the 11U age level.
The Prospects defeated the Oswego Panthers Blue 8-1 in the championship game, finishing a 6-0 weekend performance that included wins over Woodridge, Oswego Panthers (pool play as well), Illinois Raiders, Romeoville and Yorkville Foxes. Other teams that attended included the Batavia Bandits, Geneva Vikings, Lockport Cougars, Highwood Braves, Illinois Hitmen, North Aurora Hawks, Wheaton Warriors, and Aurora Starz.
The Prospects came home to win a doubleheader June 14th, 2-1 over Lou Collier Baseball and 15-5 over Northwest Indiana Crush improving their record to a State leading 52-3 on the season, due in part to winning five tournaments in 2011, and claiming 2nd at the 32 team Joliet USSSA Major Elite NIT. The team has been consistently ranked #2 in the State, receiving some first place votes, and held #25 and Honorable Mention for the TBS National Top 25.
