The Lincoln-Way Prospects travel baseball organization completely dominated the Continental Amateur Baseball Association (C.A.B.A.) World Series qualifier held at Ho Chunk Baseball Complex over Memorial Day weekend for the Annual Tom Pell Memorial Day tournament.
The 10U Lincoln-Way Prospects (State ranked #4) defeated the Indiana Playmakers 11-1 in the championship game, which aided a triple sweep for the Prospects, as all of their age levels (9U, 10U and 11U) won their semi-finals and championship games. It marks the third time in 2011 that the Prospects have swept a tournament with their age levels, demonstrating the depth and consistency of their instruction, philosophy and player execution on the field.
"It was nice to have all of our players for a tournament. We have been down one or two players for competitions for non-baseball related issues. This is what the boys can accomplish when we're a complete team," stated Head Coach Steve Korbel.
The Prospects also defeated the Oak Lawn Lightning and Southside Rage en route to their championship game.
The team plans to compete in the 2011 C.A.B.A. World Series in July. As of June 14th, they pushed their record to an impressive 37-8 on the season.
