The Lincoln-Way Prospects travel baseball organization made a loud and clear statement of support for the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team and the Lincoln-Way Central Knights baseball team.
The team has worn the color of orange for years, but has released a scarlet jersey in Blackhawks and Knights colors to be worn throughout the duration of the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs and the I.H.S.A. baseball playoffs. All 9U and 10U players have retired their orange jerseys during this time, and wear the scarlet jersey with different pant combinations of black and gray, and always with black socks and a black belt.
The upper right chest front states “Let’s Go Blackhawks” and across the back it reads, “Lincoln-Way.” The colors on the sleeveless jersey are scarlet, black and white worn with black sleeves by the youth baseball players.
We had the opportunity with extra supplies on-hand to do this, and the playoffs gave us the perfect opportunity for fun, stated Head Coach Steve Korbel. Many years from now, if the Blackhawks or Knights can win a championship, our players will have a great keepsake and a super story in their memories, coach added.
The Lincoln-Way Prospects are an elite travel baseball program serving the local area and communities. The team is nationally recognized and an annual representative of the State of Illinois for regional and national tournament play.
