Learn pencil drawing techniques in 6-week art course at St. Thomas

Is pencil drawing where you shine when it comes to creativity? Then mark your calendar to attend “Pencil Drawing Techniques 2” with Robert Sunyog from 9 a.m. to noon on six consecutive Saturday mornings, beginning Jan. 14, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville.

Class size is limited to the first 10 registrants and the $70 fee is a real bargain, so registration as soon as possible is encouraged.

Sunyog, a member of the Nature Art League and a noted artist and illustrator, will offer step-by-step instruction in composition and perspective. He also will include various techniques in drawing landscapes, trees, mountains, hills, rocks, buildings, boats, lakes and streams. Sunyog has taught several classes at St. Thomas in recent years and has been very well-received.

Classes will be held Jan. 14, 21 and 28; and Feb. 4, 11 and 18. The series is being sponsored by the Celebration of the Arts ministry of St. Thomas the Apostle.

Registration forms and supply lists are available in the Gathering Area at St. Thomas, or individuals may send their names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses and checks for $70, made out to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, to St. Thomas’ parish office, 1500 Brookdale Road, Naperville IL 60563. Those mailing their registrations will receive a list of supplies needed for the series.
