Popularity Increasing for Class IV Laser Therapy

Many professional training rooms are starting to use it.  The Chicago White Sox, USA Basketball, Toronto Blue Jays, San Diego Padres and many others are all using Class IV Laser Therapy to help heal their athletes.  The big question is why?  The Class IV Laser Therapy System works much differently than the “old” modalities, such as electrical therapy and ultrasound.  It actually has been proven to stimulate damaged or irritated tissues to heal – that means less time away from competition for these athletes.

Dr. Curtis Turchin is considered one of the experts in the field of lasers for the treatment of acute and chronic pain.  He has been using lasers for over 27 years in his California practice and has written 3 books and over 20 journal articles about laser therapy.  He has also traveled the world to educate practitioners on how to use laser therapy.  In an interview with him for this article, he stated that the “Class IV Laser Therapy System is a great alternative from traditional therapies for chronic pain and neuropathy because it has been shown to have lasting effects when treating these conditions.  Drugs have value, but their effects are short lived and the effects die off once the drug therapy has been terminated.  Laser can actually regenerate damaged body parts and grow healthy tissue.”  He goes on to say that “in the near future, lasers will be in clinics and hospitals and used by all types of doctors and therapists.  It will be used to treat and/or regenerate every area of the body and will be one of the most popular complementary medical tools since it increases the effectiveness of drugs and natural therapies.”

The new Class IV Lasers work by sending the laser light through your skin and approximately 2-4 inches into your body.  When the laser light comes in contact with the damaged or irritated tissue, the cells absorb the light, which stimulates the cells to function at a more normal level of activity.  The energy of the cell increases, which causes a chain reaction resulting in the cells to regenerate themselves.  In chronic pain situations, the damaged cells are often metabolically dormant for a very long time, when they are stimulated by the laser, it’s not uncommon for someone to instantly feel 50-60% better.  Just ask 72 year old Dr. Olmos, he recently went through a protocol with the Class IV Laser Therapy system at the Injury & Recovery Center, one of the few Chicago land medical offices using this technology.  He stated that “After just one treatment that lasted about five minutes, I was pain free. I then drove 11 hours to Tennessee, still no pain. The next treatment was scheduled after another 11 hour drive back home to Naperville, still no pain. After getting the second treatment, my wife and I took a three day golf mini vacation. We played back to back rounds two days in a row. During the entire time, I was playing golf and I felt no pain. At the end of each day ditto and after the 4 and a 1/2 drive home, still no pain.  Frankly, I had just about given up hope about reducing my chronic back problems. I had ruled out fusion surgery as being too risky and was resigned to a life of stretching, exercise and pain pills. I am going to continue with the stretching and exercise, but I am now optimistic that the laser protocol will continue to work for me.”

For people that have given up on their pain and have decided to just live with it or take pain medication, this may be a solution for you.  Contact one of the few Chicago land practitioners utilizing the Class IV Laser Therapy System – it may relieve your pain and restore your life.
