The homicides of two men, shot at the same address in Chicago Heights, were reported Friday by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Separately, Matteson police reported the shooting deaths Thursday night of a 20-year-old woman and 16-year-old male in that suburb.
Caleb Trotter, 23, of the 800 block of Latimer Lane in Flossmoor, and 51-year-old Rolando Strong, of the 500 block of Andover Street in Chicago Heights, were shot in the head Thursday in the 500 block of West 14th Street in Chicago Heights, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Trotter was pronounced dead shortly before 11:30 p.m. Thursday at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields Hospital, and Strong was pronounced at 12:06 a.m. Friday at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, according to the medical examiner.
In Matteson, police said they responded at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday to a report of shots fired at an apartment in the 4100 block of Lindenwood Drive.
Officers found a 20-year-old woman with an apparent gunshot wound to the head and a 16-year-old boy who had apparently been shot in the head and chest, police said Friday.
Officers rendered lifesaving measures to the victims until paramedics arrived, and both were taken to Franciscan Health Olympia Fields, police said.
Information about their identities was not available as their families had not yet been notified of their deaths, the medical examiner’s office said Friday. Police said they do not believe either victim lived in Matteson.
Both died shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday at the Olympia Fields hospital and the medical examiner’s office ruled their deaths to have been homicides.
Matteson police are working with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force on the investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Matteson investigators at 708-503-3130.
