Thief stuffs copper wire down his pants, and more

The following items were taken from Naperville police records Feb. 10.

Theft

  • A 28-year-old man from the 200 block of North Smith Street, Aurora, was arrested about 6:08 p.m. Feb. 6 in the 2900 block of Audrey Avenue and charged with retail theft after placing a spool of copper wiring valued at $105 into the front of his pants.
  • Two purses were stolen from an employee storage room in the 1800 block of Freedom Drive between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. Feb. 6.
  • A change purse was stolen from a woman while she shopped at a store in the 1200 block of East Ogden Avenue just before 3 p.m. Feb. 5.

Burglary

  • Someone tried to enter a maintenance garage by removing a door knob and attempting to pry the door open in the 1200 block of Royal St. George rive between 2:30 p.m. Feb. 3 and 7 a.m. Feb. 6.
  • Cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in a driveway in the 1100 block of Hyde Park Lane between 9 p.m. Feb. 5 and 4 a.m. Feb. 6.
  • An iPod and $75 were stolen from an unlocked car in the 1500 block of Bradley Court between 9 p.m. Feb. 6 and 4:30 a.m. Feb. 7.
  • CDs and paperwork were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1100 block of Iroquois Avenue between 4:30 p.m. Feb. 7 and 8:45 a.m. Feb. 8.

Drugs

  • An 18-year-old man from the 1300 block of Murdstone Drive was arrested about 9:34 a.m. Feb. 6 in the 800 block of North Mill Street and charged with criminal trespass to land and possession of cannabis.
  • A 22-year-old woman from the 0-99 block of Canterbury Trail, Romeoville, was pulled over about 7:14 p.m. Feb. 7 at 104th Street and Plainfield Naperville Road for texting while driving and police learned she also had a warrant out for possession of cannabis.
  • A 33-year-old man from the 1700 block of Villanova Drive was arrested about 1:49 a.m. Feb. 7 in the 1600 block of Signal Drive and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
  • A 26-year-old man from the 800 block of North Loomis Street was arrested about 2:12 p.m. Feb. 8 at his home and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing justice.
  • A 24-year-old woman from the 50100 block of Pontigo Glen Drive, Plainfield, and a 25-year-old woman from the 22W700 block of Red Oak Drive, Glen Ellyn, were arrested about 7:33 p.m. Feb. 8 in the 200 block of North Loomis Street . The 24-year-old was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and the 25-year-old was charged with possession of cannabis.
  • A 20-year-old woman from the 15000 block of Wood Farm Road, Plainfield, was arrested about 12:38 a.m. Feb. 8 in the 1600 block of North Route 59 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, DUI/drugs and illegal lane usage.
  • A 25-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both from the 800 block of North Loomis Street, were arrested about 2:12 p.m. Feb. 8 at their home and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Trespass

  • Someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the 1100 block of Hyde Park Lane between 9:30 p.m. Feb. 5 and 8:30 a.m. Feb. 6. Nothing was stolen.
