The man some people call the space cowboy and some call the gangster of love will be playing his music in the sun at Ribfest this summer.
The Exchange Club of Naperville announced today the Steve Miller Band will open the annual 25th annual Fourth of July weekend festival with a show on June 29.
“This selection will set the stage for a very fun and entertaining weekend,” Ribfest chair Mark Wright said in a news release.
The rock greats have sold more than 30 million albums over the past four decades and are known for hits like “Fly Like An Eagle,” “Take the Money and Run,” “Jungle Love,” and “Jet Airliner.”
This year’s festival will run from June 29 to July 3 in Knoch Park and include musical performances, family activities and 16 rib vendors from around the country. The Exchange Club will sell date-specific tickets for the first time this year and will begin sales in March.
Since its inception, the event has raised $12 million for local agencies that work to eliminate child abuse and domestic violence.
