Man hits teen over video game in pre-Black Friday rush

A 13-year-old could have used some protection from the Caped Crusader when he attempted to purchase a Batman video game in Naperville on Thanksgiving night.

The teen was at Wal-Mart, in the 700 block of S. Route 59, with his father just before 10 p.m. Nov. 24 waiting for the store to release a bin of video games to a waiting crowd, according to police reports. A man in the group warned he would shove anyone who got in the way of him getting the game he wanted, according to Naperville Police Sgt.  Gregg Bell.

As the boy reached in for a Batman game, the man struck him in the face, then immediately fled, Bell said. Police have not located the offender. The boy was not seriously injured.
