A Naperville man turned himself in to police and faces charges related to a Monday stabbing that left a woman severely injured, police said Wednesday.
Police Sgt. Gregg Bell said Carlos Christopher Ibanez, of the 1500 block of Fairway Drive, turned himself in after police issued a warrant for his arrest.
Ibanez was charged with aggravated battery with a weapon, Bell said Wednesday. Police continue to investigate the incident that left a 31-year-old Aurora woman with a bleeding wound in her throat around 8 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of Inland Circle. Neighbors who called police found the woman in the northwest side apartment complex where Ibanez resides.
The woman, who was not identified, was transported to Edward Hospital with severe but non-life threatening injuries, police said. She was air-lifted to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood. Her condition Wednesday is unknown.
Bell said there are no further details beyond the original statement that the incident was possibly domestic related.
