Chicago Wolves forward Michael Davies makes an appearance at the Morton Grove Public Library at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22, as part of the team’s “Read To Succeed” program presented by Butternut Bread and Vista Health System.
“Read to Succeed” teaches the importance of recreational reading and encourages children to use the many resources libraries have to offer.
After Davies speaks with the group, children have an opportunity to win Wolves hats, pennants, and tickets, based on their ability to set and achieve reading goals. Davies also will dress one lucky child in hockey equipment before raffling Wolves prizes and signing autographs.
More than 600,000 children and 105 libraries have participated in “Read To Succeed” since the program’s inception in 1995.
