1960’s recording artists, the New Colony Six is one of five Chicago area bands who will play a tribute/benefit on September 11, 2010, for Morton Grove resident, the late Mark “BeatleMark” Eskin, who passed away in April. The Markapalooza Tribute will be held at the Morton Grove Civic Center, 6140 Dempster St, Morton Grove, IL, at 7:00. Tickets are $10 and all sales benefit the Mark Eskin Memorial Fund. Eskin, was the guitarist for the New Colony Six, known for their hit “I Will Always Think About You.” In addition to the New Colony Six, Eskin played with dozens of bands in both the Beatles and Oldies scene. Also playing the benefit will be John Lennon tribute, Instant Karma; Eskin’s last band, 50-60s group, the StingRays; Byte, Eskin’s first band; and the Chauffeurs. Markapalooza is the fourth and final in a series of tributes which were held this summer.
