  1. I hope that a conservative Republican, who has political experience, will oppose Rep. Biss. I hope that I’ll get a pro-life state rep. who supports cutting tax rates and repealing the state dream act. That district probably has a township official, mayor, and/or village trustee who agrees with me.

  2. I hope that Ruth O’Connell will run for Cook Co. GOP chairman. She’s a conservative who is the Wheeling Township GOP committeeman, and she’s township trustee.

  3. I’m surprised that Glenview and Northbrook have so many immigrants from Africa. I hope that, when Mr. Danna wrote about “African-Americans,” he wasn’t referring to Blacks. About 2/3 of Blacks, I know, dislike being called African-Americans. They know that, since a dictionary defintion of “African” is “a resident of Africa,” an African-American must be anyone who was born in Africa, immigrated to the U.S., and became a U.S. citizen. This defintion includes a few races, so whether someone is an African-American can’t be determined by his or her skin color.

  4. All federal laws that mention education violate the 10th Amendment. I read every word of the Constitution, and I didn’t see the word “education” or “school.” Congress should eliminate the Dept. of Education, saving about $125 billion, per year. That’s about 5% of the federal budget, so they would also pass an across-the-board 5% income tax rate cut.

  5. Unconstitutional use of census information: I read that many state and city governments encourage their residents to fill out census forms because the federal government gives money to other governments, based upon the populations, of the states, counties, and cities. I think that spending should be eliminated because it’s inefficient and unconstitutional.

Federal tax money, that is earned in Illinois, is sent to Washington, DC, and the federal government sends some money to the government of Illinois and the majority of county and city governments, in Illinois. Some tax money, that is sent, from Illinois to Washington, DC, is sent to many other state, county, and city governments, although many Illinois residents will never go to those places and benefit from that spending. The U.S. Constitution lists, in Article I, Section 8, all of Congress’ powers, and it doesn’t state that Congress may give money to state, county, or city governments. Therefore, that spending is unconstitutional.

This year, the U.S. government will spend about $3.6 trillion, including $652 billion (18% of the budget) to state and local governments. I hope that Congress will pass and that President Obama will sign a law that will eliminate that spending and will cut all federal income tax rates by 18%, since the federal government would need less money. After that happens, each state, county, and city government could change their tax rates, to ensure that they receive enough money. If you agree that our president and Congress should obey the Constitution, please contact them about my suggestion.

  6. The best amendment, for redistricting: Instead of passing the Fair Map Amendment, I hope that Illinois will pass the Put-Back Amendment. It would ensure that redistricting is done by a computer program, which wouldn’t consider incumbents, parties, or races. This would ensure more competitive elections. The Put-Back Amendment would also implement term limits, on state legislators, require the legislature to vote on bills that are sponsored by at least 25 members, and require the legislature to consider each bill for at least a week.
