@nyerinmo – I have no problem with stopping and arresting drunk drivers. This ‘crackdown’ doesn’t stop with drunk drivers. It also tickets someone not wearing a seat belt. While I think wearing a seat belt is the correct thing, the smart thing, to do, government is overstepping its authority when it TELLS me I have to wear a seat belt.
Too many of these ‘crackdowns’ are sweeps – everyone on the street is stopped – regardless of whether or not they did something wrong. Stopping people randomly – without some probable cause – tramples on the liberties our Constitution reserves for us.
Such traffic stops smack of the tactics we hear from police in Communist bloc countries, not something that belongs here in America.

@ KevinJ…… so, it’s ok to boink in anothers house? Suppose you had a plumber come in, can he bring his girlfriend and do it in your bedroom since you invited him into your house?

@RegularGuy…..Thousands of innocent lives are taken due to drunk drivers!! Obviously, nobody you know or care about has lost their life or been badly injured! You’ve never seen the aftermath of a DUI accident! The way I see it, a two minute inconvienance for a DUI checkpoint is a worthwhile exercise.
There are too many stupid drivers on the road, I welcome the crackdown!

While the review of this is silly, Helsop needs to get a bit of class. She doesn’t like something so she makes a scene? It isn’t about not expressing one’s self, its about manners and respect of others opinion. Obviously, Ms Helsp doesn’t have either.
