The reason the protests failed to stop the auction is because there WERE no protests at the auction. There was, apparently, a protest 30 miles away.
Also at the Lake County Fair, protests failed to stop the consumption of corn dogs, bratwurst, pork skewers, fried shrimp, and barbecue advertised as “So Good Pigs Line Up at the Back Door To Fill Out Donor Cards.” Among other perfectly legal transactions.
Basically, the gist of this story is, “Something Failed To Not Happen Because Nothing Happened That Had Anything To Do With Anything.”
