Totally agree with McGuffin. Regardless of the temperature, the article states the windows were rolled down 1/3 of the way. That means anyone could reach inside the car and unlock the doors, if they were locked, and snatch the baby. Does that sound like a responsible place to leave your 5 month old infant? I think not.

Who said he was cruising? Sometimes you can find me in the grocery store parking lot, but that doesn’t mean I’m cruising for victims to stalk. Look, I will be the first person to say stalking is awful and I hope anyone who does it is convicted. However, I don’t think someone is guilty of a crime just because someone made a claim against them, nor do I think there is any substantial proof this guy is a stalker based on what I’ve read (not saying he isn’t, but nothing I have read has convinced me he is guilty). It is totally plausible that he ran into this girl, made a comment (maybe even off-color) and then headed in the same direction, with no intention at all of following her. It’s also possible that she completely made this up. I read the news on a daily basis and am always seeing stories of people who make up rapes, abductions, assaults, etc. It is not unheard of. All I’m saying is before you condemn the guy, why don’t you wait to find out what really happened.

I’d also like to clarify that I don’t consider following her into downtown to be an act of stalking. Had she been driving to a remote area of town and he was behind her the whole way, then maybe. But she went to the DOWNTOWN area of a small town. What’s to say he didn’t have business to do there? Was he following her down narrow pathways and into and out of parking lots? Or did he simply drive the same directioon behind her car, which last I checked was not illegal?

So, what exactly is he being charged with? As far as I have ever known, it’s not illegal to make a pass at someone. The article doesn’t mention repeated harrassment or any sort of physical encounter so I’m guess I’m just stumped why this is news. If I went to the cops every time a man made a suggestive comment to me, I’d live at the police station.
