@catholicgirl Although the Schaumburg Township Board made their decision regarding the closing, you can still make a difference.I would encourage you and many others to attend the Village Board Meeting on Tue Mar 27th at 7:30p at the Village Hall in Schaumburg. Remember – voices speak in numbers! Pressure needs to be put on the Board.

Service may be more effective for the families that have these younger children, but what about all of those families past that stage who will continue to move into the community who never received those services? I don’t think you can compare one to the other. This is a real shame. Sometimes decisions have to involve more than dollars and cents.

It will generate property taxes for the school district. It will generate sales tax revenue for the village. Why should everyone else with no kids continue to have to foot the bill for education because parents don’t want to teach kids how to cross streets safely?

Part of the reason is that so much money is taken out of our pockets for overpaid school superintendents, and there is not enough left to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.

I don’t have an opinion on the location per se, but that’s really a classic: God’s waiting room. I have to remember that one (as long as I don’t develop Alzheimer’s) if the time comes for me to ever go to a nursing home. “Kids, just take me on over to God’s waiting room.”

The adjuncts got decent increases, and this is the way the president and board want it; they don’t have to pay them benefits. The Tribune should examine how many full-time faculty are on staff, and how many adjunct instructors are used.

I am so glad you removed the plaque “to protect the students.” Why don’t you issue hard hats while you are at it? (I bet the overpaid administrators of this district had a two-hour meeting to discuss this and vote on it, and tomorrow you will have grief counselors in the school.)

that’s why we drink it here.
And when we’re gone from here;
our friends will be drinking all the beer!”

I have an issue with officials who want such meetings under some sort of “darkness.” It should be public, and media should be allowed to attend.
