Over the summer break, Montini students and staff volunteered with the DuPage Habitat for Humanity.  The “Montini Build Team” joined volunteers from other organizations in the area to work on building two homes in West Chicago.  The day began with a prayer led by one of the regular volunteers with DuPage Habitat.  The students then were divided up in various groups.  Some students replaced the roof on one house; others installed drywall and some installed flooring. “It was a good experience for all involved to help with a good cause and to meet new people.  Montini will continue this partnership with DuPage Habitat for Humanity.  Montini Catholic will volunteer one Saturday this fall.  It is good to give back to our local communities,” commented Mike Blanchette, Campus Minister at Montini Catholic High School.  The students and staff that were part of the “Montini Build Team” were:  Lauren Ganley (Lombard), Whitney Holloway (Plainfield), Haley Werner (Bolingbrook), Joseph Spingola (Elmhurst), Samantha Schubert (2010 Montini Graduate, Lombard), Jake Halbeib (Lemont), Mrs. Laraine Parker, Mrs. Carol Burger and Mr. Michael Blanchette.
