Kiwanis Kisses the Community

Each year, Kiwanis clubs around the world join in a day of service. In 2011, Kiwanis One Day was April 2. It’s a global effort made of personal commitments. The Kiwanis Club of Lombard will be repeating their “Kiwanis Kisses” distribution as their One Day Project. According to Club President Jay Wojcik, “It is our way of saying Thank You to all the great folks in our community who support their activities through out the year. “

On April 2, club members were stationed at Mr. Z’s Harris Bank, Lilac Bakery, Schroeder’s Ace Hardware and the 7/11 on Crescent to distribute 800 Kiwanis Kisses bags! The candy kisses were packaged in little plastic bags that also contain a note that said,” You are so sweet to support our Kiwanis Causes we just wanted to shower you with kisses!” On the backside of the note was a list of all the projects the funds collected during support as well as a list of all the service projects performed each year.
