Montini Catholic Students Make a Difference This Summer
On July 6, twenty Montini students welcomed clients from the Ray Graham Association in Lombard. The Ray Graham Association for People with Disabilities is dedicated to the full participation of all people with developmental disabilities with quality of life by providing leadership that supports the accomplishments of individuals, strengthens families and inspires community involvement. Mrs. Janelle Bailey, a Montini parent, works at the Ray Graham Center as the Volunteer Coordinator. She met with Mr. Blanchette, Montini’s Campus Minister, in the spring to make a connection/partnership between Montini and the Ray Graham Center. This is a wonderful opportunity for the Montini students to get service hours and really make a difference in the lives of the people with whom they work. There were about 20 people with disabilities who came to Montini Catholic High School on July 6th. The Montini students helped them make bracelets, shot hoops in the Gymnasium and just spent time talking with them. The day ended with a spaghetti lunch prepared by Mr. Blanchette and some of the students. This was a wonderful day for all! Montini looks forward to a continued partnership with the Ray Graham Center.
