Stroke survivors and their families can find support and vital information through the new Stroke Survivors support group forming at Advocate Condell Medical Center.
Led by Advocate Condell’s Stroke Coordinator, Diane Goodman, RNC, MSN, the first meeting is set for September 21 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Condell’s Conference Center, 700 Garfield Avenue, Libertyville. Future meetings will be held on the third Tuesday of each month.

According to the National Stroke Association, stroke is the third leading cause of death in the United States, killing about 137,000 people annually. Approximately 795,000 strokes will occur this year. Stroke can happen to anyone at any time, regardless of race, sex or age. Approximately 55,000 more women than men have a stroke each year.
