MainStreet Libertyville is hosting its 8th annual self-guided Historic Home Tour on Saturday, June 4, from 10am to 2pm. Bungalows are being featured for this year's event.
Many houses in Libertyville were built in the bungalow style. This years tour will focus on a carefully selected group of about fifteen. There were many different bungalow styles, and many of these different types will be represented. In addition, several gardens and interiors will be open for viewing.
Tour participants can enjoy walking, biking, or driving through town to see these distinguished homes. Since some of the streets where bungalows were built are out of the downtown area, you will need to drive to several different areas where you then will be able to walk to several featured homes on that street.
MainStreet Libertyville Volunteers will be in Cook Park distributing the Walking Tour booklets describing the history of the houses and directions to the various properties. These tour booklets are offered for a donation of $10.00 to MainStreet Libertyville.
Major sponsors of this event are The Tranel Financial Group, Advocate Condell Medical Center, Great Lakes Credit Union, and Libertyville Bank & Trust.
