One person critically injured and several others have been transported to area hospitals following a crash that occurred around 3 p.m. Monday at Route 12 and Quentin Road, according to Lake Zurich Fire Chief David Wheelock.

Roadblocks have been set up in both directions of traffic on Route 12, Wheelock said.

The Major Care Assistance Team, which includes emergency responders from municipalities throughout the northwest suburbs, has also responded to the scene, Wheelock said.
