A district administrator in Belvidere is taking up a new position in student services at Lake Zurich Community Unit School District 95.
35-year-old Erin Pittman, who hails from Antioch and Lake Villa, is currently the director of special education for Belvidere Community Unit School District 100. She was recently hired as the new assistant superintendent of student services at District 95.
“I’ll be a little sad to leave Belvidere,” Pittman said. “I’ve established great relationships here, but I’m definitely excited for the new adventure. I think it’s a great district and community.”
Pittman is replacing Assistant Superintendent Nancy Rosenfeld, who will retire on June 30, according to District 95 documents.
As Pittman transitions into the position, starting on July 1, her main goal is to meet people in the community, she said.
My personal goal is just to be able to make sure I can meet the people in the community, the parents, staff and people in the education community,” she said.
Pittman has also worked as a transition coach for Special Education District of Lake County; as a school psychologist for Lake Villa District 41, Prairie Grove District 46, and the Boone County Special Education Cooperative and a supervisor of Special Education for the Belvidere School District.
She received her bachelors degree from University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, a masters degree from National Louis University and her administrative certification through Aurora University. She also plans to begin working on her doctoral degree soon, too, she said.
“Erin distinguished herself during the interview process as being articulate, collaborative, and knowledgeable in the field of special education,” wrote Superintendent Mike Egan in a press release. “She has the ability to work with both parents and staff to provide the appropriate learning experiences for their students. Erin models our District 95 mission of being a continuous learner who is a responsible, caring citizen in a global community. I look forward to her joining our administrative team.”
