Couple Updates Homes One Kitchen at a Time

Many people put off doing something with their kitchens, always thinking they’ll get to it “next year.”  They hear horror stories about contractors and remodelers and shy away from updating their kitchens because they don’t want to have the same experience.  With prices approaching and surpassing $50,000 for full kitchen remodeling, it is no wonder homeowners feel a little overwhelmed.

Enter Kitchen Tune-Up. This nationally franchised company offers a wide variety of services and is locally owned and operated in LaGrange by Tom and Rae Dunlap.  “I think some people get sticker shock when they look at the price of redoing their entire kitchen,” says Tom. “However, there are many ways to update a kitchen without breaking the bank.  Our average kitchen project last year was less than $6,000.”

Tom and Rae remodel kitchens and save homeowners thousands of dollars by coming up with creative solutions for their kitchen needs.  “We had owned a small business before purchasing our Kitchen Tune-Up franchise,” explains Rae. “Therefore, we had sales experience by working with customers and tailoring our services to their wants and needs. We also knew how to budget and finance a small business.”

Kitchen Tune-Up has been around for twenty-two years, which allows the local franchise access to a talented kitchen design team and the knowledge necessary to get the job done. “We are successful because we stick with the basics such as returning phone calls, showing up on time and completing the work as promised.  This doesn’t sound difficult, but is often lacking in the remodeling business,” says Tom.

Kitchen Tune-Up also has the ability to offer many different services and price points.  “We’re not trying to sell our clients more than it takes to accomplish their goals, while still meeting their budgetary needs.  Although we are experts in minor remodeling, we do not shy away from a larger challenge,” said Rae.

Kitchen Tune-Up can provide anything from their signature “Tune-Up” service, which restores existing wood cabinetry, to a full blown design and remodel.  “Most of our work last year was in the refacing and door replacement category,” Rae added.  “We have great installers that take pride in making each kitchen the best it can be.”

They also offer upgrades such as glass doors, tip-out and roll-out trays, recycling centers and spice racks as well as laminate, solid surface, granite and quartz countertops.
