A 37-year-old Berkeley man has been arrested in connection with a burglary at an elementary school this week in La Grange, La Grange police announced Friday.

Sandro Caban of 1237 N. Lind St., was charged Friday with one count of burglary, police said.

Caban is accused of entering Spring Elementary school on Feb. 15 and stealing items from an employee’s purse, police said. Employees pursued the suspect as he fled the school and one of them took down a license plate number of the vehicle he was driving, police said.

A Feb. 18 bond hearing is scheduled.
