Targeted tree-trimming to start this weekend in La Grange

As part of its overall plan to improve electrical reliability in La Grange, ComEd has identified three areas where it will do targeted tree-trimming starting this weekend.

The areas where tree-trimming will be done are: between Elm and Goodman avenues on Waiola and Spring avenues,  Brainard and Stone avenues, south of Ogden Avenue and Edgewood and Sunset avenues, south of Cossitt Avenue.

Andrianna Peterson, assistant village manager, said only some houses will have trees trimmed.

“This is in an area where mostly they have already done cyclical trimming,” she said. “Not every household in this area is going to be affected.”

The work includes tree trimming that is in addition to recent cyclical trimming work and / or tree removal activities located within the rear lot line of certain properties.

Peterson said ComEd field inspectors have notified residents whose trees may be affected either by personal discussion or by leaving door cards if no one was at home.

Any resident who lives in the area and who has not been in contact with ComEd about the planned work, or anyone with additional questions concerning the targeted tree trimming, should call 1-800-Edison-1 and ask to speak with a vegetation management representative.

The village is continuing to work with ComEd to identify additional system reliability improvements throughout the community, she said.

Anyone with questions about ComEd system reliability, should call Peterson at 708- 579-2315
