Talk on evangelizing in secular culture is open to the public
JOLIET, Ill. – The University of St. Francis Department of Theology welcomes Joliet Bishop R. Daniel Conlon to speak on campus Jan. 25 as part of its spring lecture series.
His talk, called “Who is (in)forming whom?: Evangelizing in a Secular Culture,” is open to the public. It will begin at 7 p.m. in San Damiano Hall located in Donovan Hall/USF Motherhouse. Parking is available in the lots surrounding the Motherhouse, 520 Plainfield Road, or in the university’s main parking lots located at Wilcox and Douglas streets.
Conlon, appointed as bishop for the Diocese of Joliet in May, is the diocese’s fifth bishop and was installed July 14 at the Cathedral of St. Raymond. The Diocese of Joliet includes more than 655,000 Catholics from seven counties.
Conlon previously served as the bishop in the Diocese of Steubenville, Ohio.
