JJC Area High School Art Exhibition

Local high school students will have their work on display for the annual Joliet Junior College Area High School Exhibition Nov. 15 through Nov. 24 and Nov. 29 through Dec. 10. The exhibit is located in the the Laura A. Sprague Gallery on the JJC Main Campus, 1215 Houbolt Road in Joliet. The exhibit showcases 38 pieces from 19 local area high schools, including: Coal City; Dwight Township; Joliet Catholic Academy; Joliet Central; Lincoln-Way Central; Lincoln-Way East; Lincoln-Way West; Lockport Township; Manteno; Minooka; Morris; Oswego; Plainfield East; Plainfield North; Plainfield South; Providence Catholic Academy; Reed-Custer; and Yorkville. The exhibit displays various works including acrylic paint, chalk pastel, ceramic, mixed media and photography. Of the 38 pieces, 11 were selected by JJC faculty to receive an Award of Excellence. An award ceremony for this exhibition will be held Thursday, Dec. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre on the Main Campus. The ceremony will be followed by an open house in the visual arts area until 9:30 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
