DESCRIPTION;CHARSET=UTF-8:In observance of National Assisted Living Week®, September 12 to 18, The Willow Falls Senior Living Community will host a series of events developed as a special opportunity to bring together residents, families, employees, volunteers and the surrounding community to celebrate “Living Life.”  “‘Living Life,’ this year’s theme, means enjoying activities and pursuing passions, whatever they may be.  On a daily basis we offer many forms of activities that enhance our resident’s lives and nourish the soul. From spiritual services, music, theater and art to massage, aquatic therapy, tai chi, laughing yoga and a host of additional daily activities. It is the lifelong pursuit of happiness and growth,” said Activity Director, Valerie Brockman “These activities demonstrate the commitment of assisted living professionals providing care and services to residents that respect their dignity and enhances their quality of life.”  Activities planned for Assisted Living week will kick off with Grandparent’s Day. The theme for the week will be country western and involve many fun activities along with other planned events for seniors.  Sunday September 12th (Grandparent’s Day)    - 2 p.m.  Cactus Kid performs rope and gun slinging tricks) Fun for the grandkids and adults alike. Fresh popcorn and refreshments will be served.  Monday September 13th - 2 p.m. Workshop on benefits for veterans and their spouses will be given in the Willow Falls Recreation Center by certified Financial Planner Jerry Schmitt Prize. Happy Hour to follow at 3:00.  Thursday September 16th – 2 p.m.  Western sing-along with entertainer John Boda   Friday September 17th – 2 p.m.  Root Beer Float Social. Floats will be served in a cowboy boot mug.  National Assisted Living Week® is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Center for Assisted Living, Washington, D.C. and Illinois.
