These arrests were taken from Will County Sheriff’s Police reports released Feb. 8 and information from the Will County Adult Detention Facility and Will County Circuit Clerk’s Office.
Drug-related
- A Joliet male from the 300 block of North Broadway Street marked his 19th birthday Feb. 2 by taking five “dime” bags of cannabis from his jacket pocket and placing them in a bin to be scanned by a metal detector at the River Valley Justice Center. Sheriff’s Police arrested the teen for possession of less than 30 grams of cannabis as he explained he had borrowed the coat and was unaware cannabis was in the pocket. He is currently serving a suspended 24-month sentence from an April 2011 conviction for aggravated battery in Joliet.
Court tantrum
- A 24-year-old Joliet man from the 400 block of Gardner Street who was being arraigned in Will County court via video on Jan. 31 on a domestic-battery charge allegedly disrupted proceedings by throwing a Will County Adult Detention Facility monitor to the floor and subsequently grappled with Emergency Response Team members. He is scheduled to appear in court March 7 for a pretrial hearing on the original charge, as well as charges of criminal damage to property and resisting a peace officer.
Aggravated DUI
- A 33-year-old Joliet man from the 1000 block of Elgin Avenue was arrested Feb. 1 for aggravated DUI, driving 15-20 mph above the speed limit, driving on a revoked license, transporting open alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle during a traffic stop at Algonquin and Cass streets. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 22.
Reckless driving
- A 27-year-old Joliet man from the 800 block of Richards Street was arrested Feb. 3 for reckless driving, fleeing/eluding police, driving on a revoked license, speeding, improper lane use, failure to signal during a traffic stop on the 1100 block of Richards for operating a vehicle with an expired license plate and malfunctioning rear registration light.
Residential break-in
- A residence on the 2100 block of North Fairview Avenue was reported ransacked Feb. 1, but nothing was immediately reported taken.
Stable burglarized
- Three saddles, numerous spurs and bits, and some ropes were reported taken Feb. 4 from a horse stable on the 700 block of Zurich Road.
Criminal damage to vehicle
- A tire was reported punctured Feb. 2 on a vehicle parked on the 400 block of North Farrell Road.
