Multiple charges for man who led police on high-speed chase, and more

These arrests were taken from Will County Sheriff’s Police reports released Jan. 31 and information from the Will County Adult Detention Facility and Will County Circuit Clerk’s Office.

Aggravated fleeing

  • A 46-year-old Joliet man arrested Jan. 25 after a chase in which speeds topped 40 mph above the speed limit is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 15 for a preliminary hearing on charges of aggravated fleeing/eluding police, speeding, driving under the influence of a drug, disregarding a traffic light, disregarding a stop sign, failing to signal, driving on a revoked license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Sheriff’s Police took the resident of the 1100 block of Wilcox Street into custody at the intersection of Cass Street and Henderson Avenue.

Firearms-related

  • A 26-year-old Joliet man from the 1400 block of Demmond Street arrested Jan. 27 by Sheriff’s Police is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 21 for a preliminary hearing on being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance. He remained in the Will County Adult Detention Facility Wednesday in lieu of $50,000.

Crash

  • A 40-year-old Romeoville man arrested Jan. 28 during a crash investigation at Briggs Street and Bruce Road has been ordered to have no contact with car keys if he makes bail. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 21 for a preliminary hearing on charges of DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision, driving without a valid license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He remained in the Will County Adult Detention Facility Wednesday in lieu of $40,000 bail.

Break-ins

  • A PlayStation 3, Xbox gaming system, 42-inch television, computer laptop, three video games and a safe were reported taken Jan. 26 from a home on the 1000 block of East Cass Street.
  • The back door was reported kicked in Jan. 25 at a home on the 300 block of North Briggs Street but nothing was immediately reported taken.

Criminal damage to property

  • A rock was reported thrown through a window Jan. 28 at a home on the 300 block of Rev. Walton Drive. The window screen also was reported cut.

Thefts from vehicles

  • Three catalytic converters were reported taken Jan. 23 from two vans parked at a dealership on the 2400 block of Plainfield Road.
  • Seven batteries were reported taken Jan. 25 from two semi tractor trailers parked at a business on the 1200 block of Channahon Road.

Criminal damage to vehicles

  • The back window was reported broken Jan. 27 on a vehicle parked on the 200 block of Krakar Avenue.

Aggravated DUI

  • A 33-year-old Joliet man from the 1000 block of Elgin Avenue was arrested Feb. 1 by Sheriff’s Police for aggravated DUI, driving on a suspended or revoked license, speeding, transporting alcohol and improper use of registration or title. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 22 for a preliminary hearing.

Drug-related

  • A 21-year-old Joliet man from the 500 block of Bellarmine Drive was sentenced Jan. 25 to four years in prison after pleading guilty to selling cocaine in Joliet in March 2010. He was taken into custody Jan. 31 on a $100,000 bench warrant. A separate count of narcotics possession was dismissed.
  • A 20-year-old Joliet man from the 800 block of Penfield Avenue arrested Jan. 25 has been charged with manufacture and delivery of more than 30 grams of cannabis. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 22 for a preliminary hearing.
