Animal House Shelter, a no-kill haven in Huntley for animals that have been abused, neglected, have special needs or were rescued from being euthanized at other shelters, is hosting a fundraising event that kicks off this Saturday at Citizens Park in Barrington.

The shelter’s inaugural Dash for the Dogs 5k and 1-mile fun walk aims to raise money to maintain day-to-day shelter operations and cover animals’ medical needs, said Marlene Sweeney, AHS office manager. (Read more)
