Twenty-eight physicians representing more than 20 specialties and subspecialties at Advocate Christ Medical Center and Hope Children’s Hospital have been recognized by their peers as being among the Chicago region’s most highly regarded doctors.

The January 2012 edition of Chicago Magazine, which reached newsstands in mid-December, contains the names of the 28 in its Chicago’s Top Doctors 2012 listing of medical professionals considered the best in the area for their respective areas of specialization. Approximately one-third of the 60 specialties listed in the magazine includes the names of one or more physicians from Christ Medical Center and Hope Children’s Hospital.

“Top Doctors” is compiled by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a health care research and information company, and is based on recommendations from other physicians surveyed. Those recommendations are then screened by a physician-led team of researchers on the basis of each physician’s educational and professional experience before final selection is made for the “Top Doctors” list.

Last July, 94 physicians at Christ Medical Center and Hope Children’s Hospital were nominated by their peers as being among the best in their specialties in the nation and placed on a “top doctors” roster published in U.S. News and World Report.
