Sears Holdings today is in the process of laying off 100 employees at its headquarters in Hoffman Estates, a spokesman confirmed.

“These decisions are never easy, but they are necessary as part of our efforts to transform the company,” said spokesman Chris Brathwaite. Job cuts included a “mix of different positions.”

“These changes were not in any one department,” he said.
